Cold Callers

Hello all

I've posted a few messages recently about not employing cold callers who often turn out to be Rogue Traders, this obviously still stands.

However, this also applies to anyone randomly knocking at your door asking for money and perhaps giving you some sob story to pull at your heart strings, yes it might sound obvious to most that you wouldn't hand over cash to anyone you don't know but unfortunately the elderly and vulnerable get targeted by these individuals from time to time and I've received a report today for exactly that.

Please can you look out for your neighbours especially if they are elderly and vulnerable and for friends and family of the more senior amongst us please talk with them about their home security and not to answer their door to anyone that they're not expecting.

Hopefully this was an isolated incident but if it does happen to you or you have turned someone away who was asking you for cash, please report it to us using the online reporting tool on the Kent Police website or ring 101 and if the person won't leave then ring 999.
